Taste of the Nation Vail

Thank you, Vail Valley!

On August 27, 2009, the Vail Valley’s top chefs gathered at the Westin Riverfront in Avon, CO, to prepare a fabulous gourmet meal (with wines) to raise funds to help ensure no kid in Colorado grows up hungry.

Featured chefs included:

  • Paul Ferzacca, La Tour
  • Jeremy Kittleson, Restaurant Avondale
  • Armando Navarro, Larkspur Restaurant
  • Kelly Liken, Restaurant Kelly Liken
  • Kevin Nelson, Terra Bistro
  • The evening started with a fun outdoor reception on the back deck overlooking beautiful Beaver Creek Mountain. Guests enjoyed perfect weather, appetizers by the five chefs, complimentary Stella Artois beer, sparkling wine from Roederer and the sounds of the Bonfire Dub band.

    Once guests moved into the ballroom, they were served five wonderful courses of food and wine prepared and presented by the chefs and sommelier, Joel Rheame. The evening concluded with a short live auction and rowdy paddleraiser.

    All food and alcohol served to guests was provided by our generous local sponsors.

    Local beneficiaries include Salvation Army Vail and the Colorado Coalition to End Hunger.
