Award Distinguishes Share Our Strength as Cause Marketer of the Year

Washington, D.C. - Share Our Strength, the national organization working to end childhood hunger in America, announced today that it had received the Cause Marketing Forum's 2009 Golden Halo Award, signifying Share Our Strength's success in the cause marketing industry. Cause Marketing Forum, Inc. (CMF) was founded in 2002 to assist companies and organizations in "doing well by doing good." CFM selects one business and one non-profit organization each year for outstanding efforts and leadership in the field of cause marketing, and this year it is recognizing Share Our Strength for its effectiveness in fighting childhood hunger by implementing market-based approaches to drive social change. Since 1984, Share Our Strength has raised over $245 million and supported more than 1,000 groups working to end hunger.

Share Our Strength has developed relationships with the top echelon of the culinary industry to host premier events such as Taste of the Nation and A Tasteful Pursuit. The organization has recruited thousands of restaurants across the country to participate in the Great American Dine Out.
