At the request of White House, Share Our Strength® played a key role in the Chefs Move to Schools initiative, which launched on the South Lawn of the White House on June 4 with a speech by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Nearly 700 chefs from 37 states responded to Share Our Strength's call to join the kick-off event, including Food Network chefs Cat Cora, Ellie Krieger, Aaron McCargo, Jr. and Anne Burrell in addition to culinary icons Tom Colicchio, Marcus Samuelsson, and Lidia Bastianich. The goal: to deploy chefs into our nation’s schools to help improve the quality of school meals and teach our children about healthy eating habits and nutrition. Learn More »
