Bill Shore discusses the hunger crisis in America with Ed Schultz, host of “The Ed Show,” citing recent data that indicates a record number of Americans are on food stamps, more than 17 million children face hunger, that’s 1 in 4 U.S. children and indicating that childhood hunger affects the education of our children as well as their health. Bill Shore offers solutions to this growing problem, such as enrolling children in federal meals programs, engaging the national leadership of governors and the President and Share Our Strength’s efforts to work with organizations and local and state officials across the country.

Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline featured on National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” on December 21, 2009.
NPR Health Reporter Allison Aubrey follows a Kids Up Front class from the kitchen all the way to the White House. During the story, class participants tour the Obama‚s winter garden with White House Assistant Chef Sam Kass, who encourages them to see how sweet winter spinach tastes and highlights the importance of healthy foods. (Scheduled air times: 7:40 and 9:40 am, but check your local listings to be sure.)

Share Our Strength on Food Network's Dinner Impossible -
Share Our Strength appears on Food Network’s “Dinner Impossible” on Wednesday, December 9 at 10 PM ET and again on Saturday, December 12 at 4:00 PM EST. Chefs Robert Irvine and Guy Fieri will join Share Our Strength to provide Holiday cheer for 300 California kids-in need.

Watch Robert & Guy’s Holiday Havoc: Robert receives a surprise when Guy Fieri turns up to deliver an extreme holiday mission. Robert and Guy join forces with Food Network’s charitable partner, Share Our Strength to give members of the Santa Rosa Boys and Girls Club in California a holiday memory they’ll never forget. Their challenge: to create a meal for 300 guests of the Boys and Girls Club in just 10 hours.
