When I became a Cooking Matters coordinator I only wanted to teach adult classes because I thought that those classes would have the biggest impact in the community. I ended up having class after class of children and was surprised to see the results!

As I began scouting about for volunteer opportunities a couple years back, I never would have dreamed that I'd find such a perfect fit in Cooking Matters. I was looking not just for a way to give back to my community, but for an opportunity to share my passion for cooking in a way that would really change lives. Over the course of the nine classes I've taught so far, I am happy to say that my Cooking Matters experience delivers on this promise every time.
