- Farm Bill Cuts Leave More Kids at Risk of Hunger [ No comments]

Last week, the House Agriculture Committee passed a Farm Bill that cuts more than $16 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps). These egregious cuts will cause up to 3 million Americans to lose access to their SNAP benefits entirely, and would kick nearly 300,000 children off of free school meal programs. Simply put, this bill will leave more kids in America at risk of hunger.

The House Agriculture Committee yesterday voted to slash spending for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, or "food stamps") by more than $33 billion. Tom Nelson, President of Share Our Strength, released the following statement
