Teenage Entrepreneurs That Any Smart Business Leader Would Hire

WF logoHave you ever tried to run a small business? Have you ever performed market analysis, researched your competition, and pitched a business model? And if you have, has your business been featured on NBC’s Nightly News?

And if you can answer yes to all of those questions, I’ve got one more question for you: does your business not only turn a profit, but also serve the needs of struggling families in your community?

Last week, a team of Share Our Strength supporters and partners met two teenage girls who can answer “yes” to all of those questions. Share Our Strength is a proud supporter of the Rise and Shine Co-Op program run out of the Florence de George Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach. A group of extremely impressive teenage entrepreneurs have created a successful Food Co-Op business that helps provide fresh affordable food to families who struggle to have enough. As NBC’s Ann Curry puts it, “they are sowing seeds of hope for people in need.”

Nicole Brochu from the Sun Sentinel joined Share Our Strength’s group last week. Check out her column about the Rise and Shine leaders and Share Our Strength’s visit to West Palm Beach.

And if you want to learn even more, watch the NBC Nightly News piece on the Rise and Shine Food Co-op.
