Last week, 30 Food Network volunteers participated in a day of service lead by Share Our Strength at the Food Bank for New York City. The team packed over 4,000 lbs of food that will go to food pantries, soup kitchens, afterschool programs to support children and families in need. According to the Food Bank of New York City, 1 in 5 New Yorkers rely on them to eat.
This holiday season, it has become a popular trend to replace office holiday parties with office service days. Many corporate teams are turning in the lavish holiday parties for days of community giving or encouraging employees to raise money together to donate.
