We are always looking for creative ways to spread awareness about our No Kid Hungry campaign. Our most recent development: our new, No Kid Hungry running shirts.

We have lots of staff, supporters, and volunteers who always want to spread awareness for our cause at marathons, 5Ks, school events, and more. Now, we’ve made it happen.

Below are a few stories and pictures from some recent events our staff have participated in. We started with just staff, but now we are ready to have our volunteers and supporters join us in spreading the word. If you’d like to purchase a shirt please visit NO KID HUNGRY SHIRTS! We’ll collect sizes and donations and then send your shirts out in about 6-8 weeks—plenty of time to have your shirt for all your summer events.

Feel free to leave a comment below and let us know what you think!

A cross-functional group of Share Our Strength staff on the day the shirts came to the office. As soon as other staff saw the shirts, the orders came pouring in.

The No Kid Hungry Shirts made their public race debut at the National Marathon in Washington, DC. Jen Jinks, National No Kid Hungry Director, was joined by friends and family who also donned their Share Our Strength colors. Jen said that during the marathon someone cheered for them by saying, “We’ll feed the kids if you finish the race!” That person is going to have some work to do, because Jen and her crew finished the race in style!

Several of our staff participated in the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race in Washington DC just this past weekend. Unfortunately, the huge crowds didn’t allow us to all meet for a photo—but a small group of us found each other. Throughout the race there were screams of “Go No Kid Hungry” from every direction.

I heard somewhere its been proven that bright orange shirts make you run faster! and I love the support I got while running in mine!

Your friends and family will always be able to pick you out of the crowd with those bright, good-looking tech shirts. Go Team No Kid Hungry!

Just bought one of these for my wife and one for me - now we can wear our Share Our Strength sweatshirts when it is cool and the T-shirts when it is warm...

This intuition about the vintage of I Love New York t-shirts is correct. The origin of the design was in 1977: the Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Department of Commerce, William S. Doyle, knew that New York had incredible potential to attract tourists. At the same time, he was aware that many tourists didn't bother to visit the city -- some were worried about crime, or annoyed by high prices, but most simply never thought to go there. He needed a slogan that would not convince people that it was a good city to visit -- he needed a slogan that would take the millions of people who were already convinced, and catalyze their decision to make the trip.
