LoseAPalooza

If you love social media, then there’s a great excuse for being online today.
Weight Watchers is launching Lose-A-Palooza, a social media event to raise awareness and participation in the Lose For Good campaign. This is a one-day event where you can get involved to raise funds to help Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger fight hunger.
Last year, Weight Watchers donated $1 million through Lose for Good and members lost more than 4 million pounds. Because of that success, Weight Watchers decided to continue the effort, and launch this one-day event to help even more.
For every social media action taken today that references Lose For Good, Weight Watchers will donate $1 to fight hunger*.
So there’s something possible for everyone to do:
- Twitter like crazy using #LoseForGood and the shortened URL http://ow.ly/p7ul.
- If you’re not already, follow @ShareStrength. We’ll be making updates throughout the day. Plus, every new follower today is another $1 donated by Weight Watchers.
- Join our Facebook cause and invite your friends!
- Comment or “like” the posts on our Facebook fan page. We’ll update them throughout the day, so please keep going back. You can do this more than once and it’ll count.
- Write a blog post and reach out to your readers about the campaign. You can use the Lose-a-Palooza banner on the right. Every comment to a blog post talking about the campaign is added to the total. The more people we get to talking about the campaign, the better!
- Send an email to five people you know well, letting them know why you support the campaign and ask them to join you, too.
Check out the Lose-a-Palooza site for even more ideas.
Tell Us Why You Care
Let’s start here. Tell us how you will be getting involved. Why does hunger matter to you? Please share your story with us. Let us know, too, who else is joining you in the campaign. We’d love to hear about it.
