Yesterday, Dr. Oz unveiled the new faces of hunger – women, men and children in our communities whom you would never expect go to bed hungry every night. He highlighted the terrible effects of hunger on children – both physical and emotional.

Dr. Oz called upon his viewers to donate enough money for 1 million meals for children facing hunger.

We’ve seen an incredible response to the show and are so grateful that you answered Dr. Oz’s call. By midnight Tuesday, you helped us meet and exceed his challenge. Because of the generous support of thousands of Dr. Oz viewers like you, children will have access to more than 1 million nutritious meals where they live, learn and play.

Childhood hunger is a solvable problem. We need to make sure communities and schools have strong food and nutrition programs, and that that these programs are reaching the growing number of kids who need them. That’s the essence of our No Kid Hungry Campaign, and we are so grateful that you’ve chosen to be part of the solution with your gift to Share Our Strength.

From all of us at Share Our Strength, thank you!

P.S. Please help us spread the word and keep up this incredible momentum. We still have a long way to go to make No Kid Hungry a reality, and we need your help. Please ask your friends and family to join you in the fight against childhood hunger.

Dr. Oz's show on "No Kid Hungry" had such an impact on me. I've made a donation and I'm going to look into volunteering to help these families.

It's a shame on this country that so many families don't have enough food to even provide a meal each day. It is the responsibility of those of us who can, do what we can to help provide this most basic need for our fellow Americans.

Dr. Oz's Show was so powerful. I cried through the whole show as NO ONE in America should go hungry. Like so many Americans, we have experienced unemployment and it is very frightening not to have an income. My heart goes out to this organization for being part of the solution. I hope that my small contribution that I am able to make will help too. And, we are doing a fundraiser at our Yoga Studio on New Year's Day to raise money for our local food bank. Hunger is everywhere in America and should not be.

Dr Oz's how on "No Kid should go Hungry" touched me deeply. I donated the next morning and I am so happy to hear that the goal was met. It is a disgrace that we live in a country with so much wealth and yet we have families going through a difficult time and they don't have enough to feed their families. My wish is that some of the wealthy people saw this show and will give many generous contributions.

It just broke my heart to see this family's suffering like this, and decided to help because tomorrow it might be me plus it feel good when you help.

After I dried my tears, I went right to the computer and donated after Dr. Oz's show on "No Kid should go Hungry". I will spread the word and try to find a local food bank helping our local children. Some judge (Wrongly) that families aren't doing enough because of past income/circumstances. A hungry child is not a political pawn. Feed them - NO STRINGS ATTACHED!!!

Dr Oz's program had me in tears and I spread the word on my facebook page. No one in our country should be going hungry and the future of this country depends on the children. We already support our local food bank because for my husband and I, we have chosen charities that are related to feeding America charities that need us the most and need us NOW. I am pleased to have been able to contribute to Share Our Strength.

I was going to keep my donation between me and God, but I have decided to spread the word to friends and family. We are bombarded with requests from other orgs. for help for children in the world, never realizing we have this problem here. Lets take care of our kids and their families. Our economy has created this problem and we must rise to help.

I fully suport Share Our Strength and I am so glad to see someone helping to make a difference. I am a senior in High School and my friend and I were just leaving a meeting about our project we are doing to benefit the Share Our Strength organization. As soon as I got home she called me and told me to turn on the DR. Oz show because Billy Shore from the Share Our Strength organization on his show. My friend and I began to raise awareness in our community and school. We held a bake sale at our town festival . We raised over 300 dollars and we were able to get over 200 pledges. We also have tea sales at school in which all the money we make goes to Share Our Strenth. We have raised over 600 dollars so far. We are also planning to sell ornaments in our school Christmas shop (just purchased them last night) in which all the profits made will be donated to Share Our Strength as well . We have one more fundraising event planned for the organization so far. We are extremely excited at how many children we may be able to help! I feel strongly about the efforts to end childhood hunger and promote a healthy lifestyle along with it. This organization is doing great work. God Bless, Brianna from Georgia

Thanks so much to Dr. Oz and his show for sending out this powerful message about hunger in this great country. We certainly need to care about people all over the world but we need to start right here at home. I made a donation to this wonderful cause and hopefully fewer children will go to bed hungry thanks to you.

I also was extremely moved. It took me back over 30 years ago, when my kids were hungry. It feels so horrible to hear your children cry from hunger, it's burned into my soul. I donated what I could, I posted the link to facebook and I talked to the counselor at the school I teach at to see if we could start a back pack program at our school. It's so depressing to go hungry. It saps your strength, energy and drive.

I love to watch the Dr. Oz Show when I can. I truely believe he has a heart of gold and I was glad to be able to support "Share Our Strength". It broke my heart to see those families not having enough food to feed their families. What a great program!

It's embarrassing that we have this problem here in our country. I'm not one to show my emotion on my sleeve, but i was truly brought to tears and almost feet guilty that I have been fortunate enough not to experience this national problem. Great job by Dr. Oz!!!!

There but for the grace of god goes anyone of us. May we all do what we can, no one should be without the food to feed their family.

I was so moved by Dr Oz's show because I know exactly what these people are going through. Even though my husband and I don't have children to feed anymore, for the past year we have had to go to a food bank because we don't have enough money coming in to pay bills and buy food, but because we have gotten help I just had to donate what I could to help others.

Thank you Dr. Oz for presenting this show with Mr. Billy Shore. I was touched by the show and immediately joined the program to donate money each month. May God bless our children and keep them fed. This show also broke my heart to see families struggling. I plan to see what I can do to volunteer in my community.

Dr. Oz's program really opened my eyes and my heart to these precious ones we can help. We are a great nation and we need to use our hearts and heads AND purses to help those who can least help themselves. They are the future of our nation and should be cared for. Thank you Dr. Oz for raising awareness and providing an avenue for all of us to help.
