Share Our Strength
Ashley Graham is the Louisiana Director for Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America.
She manages a wide range of efforts addressing both childhood hunger and the region’s recovery, especially its food systems. She graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in American Studies and subsequently worked in campaign politics for a few years.
Since joining Share Our Strength in 1992, she has held several leadership positions, working with the organization’s national network of chefs and restaurateurs, grassroots leaders and corporate and community partners to harness their strengths on behalf of anti-hunger initiatives.
Overseeing the organization’s response to Hurricane Katrina brought her to the Gulf Coast regularly and by her 16th trip in 2006, becoming a New Orleanian became a foregone conclusion, a moral imperative, and a labor of love. She is currently working to develop a statewide strategy to end childhood hunger; to identify, resource and replicate best practices; and to bring new resources and unusual suspects to the cause. She co-chairs the New Orleans Food Policy Advisory Council and serves on local advisory boards for Edible Schoolyard NOLA, Crescent City Farmers Market and Playworks (formerly Sports4Kids).
